The UML Innovation Hub + M2D2 called for a 22,000 GSF interior fit-up. The UML Innovation Hub + M2D2 Labs occupy the top two floors of the historic Freudenburg Building in the Hamilton Canal District. Aberthaw restored the exterior of the existing building and developed the UML spaces as part of our ongoing work in the District. The UML project focuses on creating varied and technologically rich environments for collaboration and to provide labs for biomedical startups. The top floor has specialized labs and equipment, and the floor below has both open and private offices, along with a shared meeting room. There is lab capacity for more than 40 start-ups.
